Art Prints
Canvas
art prints are reproductions of original paintings on a canvas medium. In
addition to canvas, art prints can also be reproduced on paper. However, prints
on canvas are much more pretty to behold and tend to last longer than those made
from paper.
Two
main types of canvases used for making canvas art prints are matte and gloss
canvas. Matte canvas is ideal for reproductions of photographs and paintings
where a glossy appearance is not desired. The gloss canvas is ideal where a
smooth primed gloss finish is sought. Images tend to be very brilliant making it
ideal for fine art reproductions.

In
order to create a canvas art print from an original painting, the most common
procedure used is called canvas transfer. It basically involves coating the
canvas with a special acrylic and then embedding an ink film of the original
painting into the canvas. Another method employed is canvas-texture transfer,
which is a form of lithographic transfer that encapsulates the beauty of a
canvas transfer.
Canvas
art prints are recommended over paper prints for their quality and captivating
finish. These days it is even possible to convert your photographs to poster
sized canvas art prints. Such is
the beauty of modern technology.
