An
in-depth look at demotivational posters - Elitism

We
live in a culture in which people want to be at the top. Young kids dream of
going to college while college students dream of managing a company or even
greater, owning their own company. While ambition is a good thing, the Elitism
demotivational poster reminds us of one fact: "It's lonely at the top, but
its comforting to look down upon everyone at the bottom". Indeed for when
you get to the top you can also expect to have fewer real friends, as most of
your friends would do anything to vie for your position. You begin to live in an
enclosed world where you may know so many people but can hardly confide in any.
Elitism
may be nice but it also has its advantages. Like the eagle in the poster shown
above, you feel isolated not because you cannot see people but because they
cannot see you. While you still keep in contact with them, you loose touch.
Notwithstanding, you are at the top and others strive to be exactly where you
are not knowing how lonely it can be at the top. That's why its demotivational.
