An
in-depth look at demotivational posters - Idiocy

There
is a saying that stupidity knows no bounds, and neither does idiocy. The Idiocy
demotivational poster with the phrase "Never Underestimate The Power of
Stupid People in Large Groups", echoes the same message.
Idiocy
refers to a foolish or stupid utterance or deed. While we might not be tempted
to call a group of skydivers who happen to be having a nice time 10,000 ft above
the earth idiots, the Idiocy demotivational poster doesn't hesitate to do so.
Have
you ever been fortunate, or should I say unfortunate, to witness a peaceful
demonstration or soccer match turn violent as the result of the act of a single
demonstrator or fan? That's how it all happens. People tend to get some sort of
psychological comfort from being in groups and when a member of that group
chooses to act stupidly, it is quite common for others to follow, in most cases,
out of nothing but sheer stupidity.
It
is often said that though a man or woman might be perfectly sane, when put in a
group, such a man or woman could find himself or herself acting like a beast in
the jungle. Not convinced? Ever seen the reaction of people who get stuck in a
terrible traffic jam during the morning or evening rush hour? Now you get it.
And
that's the point the Idiocy demotivational poster tries to make. In groups,
people can be stupid and wild. But, relax. Don't take it too seriously. It's
meant to be viewed from a satirical and sarcastic point of view, for that's
exactly what demotivational posters are - satirical art forms.
