Inspirational
art and the refreshing of the mind

Inspirational
art is art that is able to speak to you, lighting up a flame in your heart and
providing warmth, solace and motivation. Inspirational art comes in many forms
and means different things to different people. To a teenager, inspirational art
may mean possessing the poster or photographic print of a highly admired pop
star. To an aspiring athlete, it could mean an artwork or photograph of a great
achiever in the field – such as a Michael Jordan in basketball or a Jesse
Owens in the sprints.
To
a Christian, inspirational art revolves around scriptural verses and the life of
Christ. It is art that is ethereal and one that looks up to the Divine for
guidance and direction in daily living. For an aspiring business person,
inspirational art delves on success in the workplace.
Every
one of us needs inspiration at some point in time. There are days when we seem
to have a mental blackout either at work, at home or in school, standing in
desperate need of something to refresh our minds and bring to us great insights
that spur us into new things. Inspiration is nothing more than a reawakening of
the mind with positively new thoughts that help us take a different course of
action, sometimes one that has never been taken before.
Inspirational
art helps us to be motivated. It helps affirm our beliefs, values or
aspirations. Having a piece of art, which inspires you either at home or in the
workplace, can be a good thing. To some people, this may mean photographs of
their loved ones or kids on their desk in the office. To others, inspirational
art in the office comes in the form of motivational posters with direct and
clear statements that help them stay focused.
Visual
objects can stimulate us, and sometimes, a picture or work of art is able to
convey a message that would require over a thousand words to describe.
Inspirational pieces of art also help relieve stress as well as providing calm.
Therefore, from a holistic healthy living point of view, it would be a good idea
to include pieces of art at home or in the workplace which inspire you. And, you
can be sure that the positives which would result from such inspirational art
would be worth the effort.
