Surprisingly, as children grow up, many of them tend to develop a phobia for mathematics. A number of educators believe that this has more to do with the way mathematics is presented and taught rather than what is taught. To many high school students, mathematics is seen as an abstract subject with little relation to their daily lives. The use of more visual aids such as math posters, computer visualization programs as well as practical examples could help these young people break the phobia and truly appreciate mathematics for what it is which is the study of the measurement, properties, and relationships of quantities and sets, using numbers and symbols.
Math posters are not only ideal for kindergarten, nursery and primary school classrooms but also for junior high school students. For instance having a large multiplication table poster in the classroom can help primary and junior high school students learn the relevant multiplication tables. Though calculators and computers seem to do the bulk of the work these days, being well grounded in the fundamentals is necessary for kids to succeed in mathematics. So, teachers and educators should be encouraged to allow a variety of math posters and prints in classrooms to foster the learning process for children.
You can also get more information on other types of posters and art prints.
We are currently looking for sites that offer free math posters so as to provide this information to a number of students who may want to download them. Printable math posters are also being sought. If you have any information on such sites, we will be most glad if you can inform us.
