The
Ringling bros. operated one the most successful circuses in the United States. In
1884, they organized their first circus. The most notable of the Ringle bros.
were Charles and John. In succeeding years, the brothers took over a number of
circus companies. At one point, they owned the largest touring organization in
the world using up to 300 tents to organize their circus tours.
